Attendance

Our tutors work hard to ensure your child’s session is packed full of learning from beginning to end, therefore it is very important that you ensure your child arrives on time. All sessions will begin and end at their scheduled time.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties that are preventing you from logging to your child’s online tutoring session on time, it is your responsibility to contact your tutor to let them know.

If you are late to, miss, or reschedule more than three sessions in a 3 month period, you will receive a call to discuss whether regularly scheduled tutoring is a good fit for your family.

Cancellation

24 hours’ notice is required for all session cancellations and re-schedules. If 24 hours’ notice is not given, a re-scheduled session will not be offered and a refund will not be given.

We understand that severe illnesses or other emergencies may cause you to have to cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice. If you are experiencing an emergency and won’t be able to attend tutoring, please reach out to your tutor or ZHT as soon as possible. In these cases, a reschedule may be offered at the discretion of your tutor and ZHT.

If your child has had a permanent change in schedule due to sports or extracurricular activities that interferes with their tutoring time, it is your responsibility to reach out to ZHT or your tutor to discuss permanently rescheduling your child’s weekly sessions.

If your tutor must miss your tutoring session due to illness or emergency, they will contact you as soon as possible to reschedule at your convenience.

Supervision

A parent, guardian, or other trusted adult must be present at the location where tutoring is taking place for the duration of the session.

Preparedness

It is expected that your child will be prepared for each session so that they can benefit fully from their time with their tutor. Please get any pictures of homework or important information to your tutor ahead of time if possible. This allows your tutor to prepare their lesson accordingly.

Please log into your tutoring session a few minutes before it is scheduled to start. This will allow you time to troubleshoot any technical difficulties your computer may have before the session begins.

Online students are expected to have the correct equipment for each tutoring session. This equipment includes:

Headphones
Working microphone and webcam
High-speed internet
Mouse (no trackpads)

Teacher Contact and Information Release

If you would like your tutor to have contact with your child’s teacher, please sign this information release form and email it to info@zoiehoffman.com.

Payment

Payment is due before scheduling tutoring sessions. Refunds are not available unless tutoring has been terminated and are at the discretion of ZHT. All refunds will be issued as a check.

Media Release

By scheduling tutoring session with ZHT you agree to your child’s photo or video being used for promotional use. We will notify you before we use any photos or videos of your child.

Recording

Your child’s session may be recorded for quality checks to ensure they are getting the tutoring experience they deserve. If your child’s session is recorded, ZHT will keep the recording completely confidential and it will only be shared with you, Zoie Hoffman, and your child’s tutor.
